eLearning Day

Lexington County School District Three announces that Friday, January 10th will be an eLearning Day for all students and staff in the district. District officials have been closely monitoring the impending winter weather that is forecasted to impact the majority of South Carolina on Friday. Forecasters are predicting sleet, freezing rain, and the possibility of snow flurries in our area, all of which could lead to hazardous road conditions, downed trees/power lines and power outages. Lexington Three administrators prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and Panther families. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, students and staff will complete the school day remotely through our eLearning program on Friday, January 10th.

What is an eLearning Day?

An eLearning Day in Lexington Three means that students do not physically come to school. Instead, they complete assignments remotely from the safety of their home.

eLearning Details:

All students in grades K4 through 12th grade will have eLearning assignments to complete on Friday, January 10th. Students in grades K4 through 2nd grade will have written assignments to complete via paper packets. These assignments will be sent home with students on Thursday, January 9th. Students in the 3rd through 12th grades will have assignments to complete via Google Classroom using their district-issued Chromebook. Unless otherwise indicated by the teacher, all assignments should be turned in by no later than Friday, January 31st. Please note that internet access is not a requirement for any of the Chromebook assignments to be completed. Students who have assignments that need to be completed using a Chromebook will have the work loaded onto their Chromebook prior to leaving school on Thursday, January 9th. If internet access is not available at home, the completed assignments should be left open on your child’s Chromebook as they will automatically sync and update once the Chromebook is back inside the confines of our district internet system. All students in grades 3rd through 12th should bring their Chromebooks back to school on Monday, January 13th when school resumes. Any student who has questions about an assignment can email his/her teacher.

After-School Events:

All after-school events including sports practices, meetings, etc. scheduled for Friday, January 10th are canceled.

Lexington Three recognizes the burden that schedule changes can place on our Panther families. That’s why we work to communicate any updates as quickly as possible, giving families sufficient time to adjust their plans. Rest assured, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority and every decision is made with this goal in mind using the best information that we have available from local emergency preparedness officials and forecasters. We thank you for your understanding and support.
