Lexington County School District Three announces Margaret (Maggee) Ellis as the new Assistant Administrator of Batesburg-Leesville Primary School. Mrs. Ellis joins BLPS from Batesburg-Leesville Middle School where she has served as a Digital Learning Coach since 2020. Prior to that, she worked at Batesburg-Leesville High School as a Social Studies/AVID elective teacher and secondary administration intern. Mrs. Ellis has been employed in Lexington Three since 2013.
Mrs. Ellis received a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education in 2011 from the University of South Carolina Aiken. In 2015, she earned a Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University and in 2020, she received a Specialist in Educational Leadership degree from Clemson University.
During her time as a Panther in Lexington County School District Three, Mrs. Ellis has served students and staff in numerous roles and capacities including as a middle school volleyball coach, varsity girls soccer coach, and chaperone for AVID college tours. In addition, her strong leadership skills have been evident as she has been a member of several committees and teams both district and statewide including the SC Department of Education’s Social Studies Unit Development Committee, the SC Department of Education’s Micro-Credential Academy cohort, and Lexington Three’s Leadership 3.0 cohort. In 2018, Mrs. Ellis was named as Batesburg-Leesville High School’s Teacher of the Year.
As Assistant Administrator at Batesburg-Leesville Primary School, Mrs. Ellis’s primary responsibilities will be supporting positive student behaviors and a positive school culture. She will also support teachers in the classroom by ensuring they have the instructional tools and resources needed to maximize student growth.
Mrs. Ellis and her husband, John, have two daughters–Addison (6) and Ryleigh Carson (3).
