A new book vending machine that was purchased with fundraising monies at B-L Middle School officially opened for business on Wednesday, January 25th. Town of Batesburg-Leesville Mayor Lancer Shull assisted with the dedication ceremony that was attended by faculty, staff, students and district administrators.
The vending machine, which is located in the school's atrium, will provide books and other rewards for students who earn recognition for good behavior, outstanding work, improvement in academics/behavior, and personal growth, just to name a few of the indicators for which students can earn a special token for the vending machine.
A group of around twenty students became the first to officially use the machine on Wednesday. These students were nominated by a teacher for outstanding demonstration of Panther Principles, great improvement in their academic work or outstanding growth in their classwork.
